What each allowance would carry as a purchase
The table turns each with-dependents rate into the price at which a no-down, first-use VA loan at 7.40% plus the 2025 levy stack would cost exactly the allowance. Two of the site's stacks are shown: Fountain inside city limits (District 8 plus a 16.339-mill city levy) and Monument inside town limits (District 38). Insurance, HOA dues and metro-district levies are left out, so the real ceiling is lower.

How the allowance behaves
The Defense Travel Management Office ties BAH to rental costs in the local civilian market and says plainly that it is not meant to cover every housing cost. Rental prices, it notes, generally move 2% to 5% a year, and allowances tend to follow. Rate protection keeps your rate from falling while your status holds; a PCS, a cut in grade or a change in dependency status ends it. The table counts dependents as present or absent, never by number. For entitlement questions, the Army route starts with the supporting Army Military Pay Office or finance office.
